Visiting other Lodges is always a highlight of Freemasonry.
Last night, I had the pleasure of visiting the Lodge of Honour and Friendship in Blandford, a Lodge with nearly 200 years of rich history.

It was their annual Farmer’s Night, where brethren bid on local produce and raffle prizes—all in support of local charities. As you can see, I didn’t manage to keep my hand down much!

Bro Jake Taylor our Charity Steward and Bro Chris Armstrong (Asst Sec) took time out today to meet the team at Water Lily Project and hear how this excellent local charity support those experiencing domestic violence. Elizabethan Lodge sent them a bank transfer on the spot and this amount we learned was exactly what they actually needed to replace some equipment which failed this week. We will continue to support the Waterlily project and other local charities. Freemasonry is one of the largest charitable giving organisations in the country. Myth busting – Freemasons are not all Christian. Freemasonry is as diverse as it is evenly spread across the globe and welcomes members of all faiths. What we have in common is we all believe in a higher power no matter what you call him. Yesterday we held our Ladies Festival – A chance to thank the wives and partners for their support in our masonic endeavours, have some fun and as with all our efforts raise money for charity. Our Worshipful Master Malcolm Pantel and his wife Pat presented Tatiana of Zetland Court with a cheque for £600 and Tatiana gave a brilliant acceptance speech explaining about the work of the masonic home Zetland Court.

Best of all we were entertained by the wonderful Darcie Edwards Sings as Amy Winehouse.

The Brethren of The Elizabethan Lodge recently played host to Football Lodge – conducting a double 3rd degree ceremony for them. Just in true football spirit the 2 teams really pulled together to make the night a great success and as always a great amount raised for local charities and a fun Festive Board afterwards. This Bank Holiday the brethren of The Elizabethan Lodge 7262 and many from other local lodges including Twynham Lodge 5889, Barton Court, and Lymington and their families and friends got together for a special boat charter on the Dorset Queen. This boat was part of the original Dunkirk rescue mission and so it was a perfect vessel to celebrate 85 years since Dunkirk and 80 Years since VE Day.

We toured around the Harbour at Poole and out to sea for a while listening to highlights from our Captain, tucked into a tasty BBQ and of course made full use of the bar. Last night saw a packed lodge room at Warren Ave witness Worshipful Bro Malcolm Pantel be installed as Master of our Lodge for the ensuing year. At 90 years old Malcolm ascended into the Chair of King Solomon for the 1st time in his 66 years as a Freemason. The WM has worked tirelessly to learn ritual, build his new team of officers and last night they too were invested into their respective roles in the Lodge. Many taking their 1st offices. There were heartfelt speeches, tears of pride and joy, lots of laughter and brilliant festive board for 65 diners. Definitely a night to remember and one that made us all realise what fun and how unifying being a Freemason is.
